yup, the school load's intolerably heavy once again. i don't know why i still have time blogging. actually, i don't. i should be studying now.

three things to be thankful for: 1.) we ate at panciteria lido to celebrate my cousin kaye's 14th birthday. there were around 20 of us present. it was nice seeing some of my relatives again. 2.) i already joined a growth group in church, and i attended the first session of the purpose driven life campaign earlier. it was nice and uplifting to be with new people who share the same faith. 3.) i studied for two hours straight without sleeping. woohoo. but i'm still halfway through with my readings. :P

when things get too difficult in school, i just imagine myself studying in hogwarts, which has the same big structures, the same limited roster of teachers (some of which are also as mean and unreasonable) and the same unknown species roaming around the campus.

anyway, these are the past entries i've put in for the past week but haven't uploaded yet.

today's the first day of classes for the second sem. i should be fixing up right now, but papa's still in the shower so i can't do anything as of the moment.

i rediscovered this cd, the '01 album by eagle eye cherry with the songs: are you still having fun and we've been here once before

anyway, i got to talk to jenny again last night. it was the first time we talked that long again since she started work and i started with law school. it was nice talking with her again.

today's the second day of classes. and none of the teachers showed up the whole day. we actually went to school for nothing. well, at least we were able to get the syllabus for legal profession (our subject yesterday) and we already had some of the articles photocopied.. but still.. anyway, we also ate at chocolate kiss as always. i actually missed it during the sem. break.

it's a good thing that i feel less stressful this sem than last sem, and that i already have an established set of friends i go with regularly. last sem, i was filled with a lot of apprehensions about law school, and all the time i just felt that i didn't belong. in a way, i still don't know if i can keep up with the demands of law school, and if i could measure up to my really good classmates, but at least i don't dread every single day going to class anymore.

yesterday, we only had legal profession in the morning. our nice, mommy-like teacher (which is a rarity in law school) just discussed some requirements and then dismissed the class. afterwards, we went to metro east and watched *drumroll* "my first romance". hehehe. we weren't actually going to watch it, but chi insisted. well, it was the typical kind of pinoy love story where everyone's just so darn rich, everyone looks really pretty, everyone's a fashionista and the world is just so small that you bump into your significant other in every place possible. and i don't know what's up with the exaggerated paconyo characters. oh, did i fail to mention the cliche lines? in other words, it's the kind of movie that doesn't make me want to fall in love again. it was a good thing ate glow was so funny and i could relate to the telenovela spoofs. hehe. so it wasn't really a total waste of time.

at last i was able to watch the trailers. nice movie to watch out for: peter pan. and i think coldplay's "clocks" is part of the soundtrack. all the more reason to watch it.

none of our teachers still showed up today. we already have a syllabus for consti, though, so we have reading assignments already. i think in a way we're the lucky class, since the other sections are already stressed out for the past week. all we did was hang out in the classroom or eat at chocolate kiss...

one more streak of luck: we're the only batch that got high grades for legal history under dan gat. i actually got 1.75. that's surprising, considering that i only got a grade of 2 in the recit. people from higher batches told us that dan gat flunks at least one whole section per batch, and i don't think anyone flunk in our batch.. none i heard of, anyway..

i can't believe that i am actually correlated with the word "luck".

i want to start another physical activity, aside from badminton. and no, that doesn't include going up flights of stairs lugging heavy, hard bound law books. we're thinking about signing up for aero at moro. no definite plans yet, though..

then, we went to greenbelt. we just ate at sentro (this restaurant that serves contemporary filipino food). the food was good, and i ate a lot as expected, despite my previous commitment to maintain a strict diet. well at least i played badminton for two hours afterwards. we're trying to play badminton as consistently as we could. i hope i could still play when school starts.. (last saturday, we also played badminton at philam homes with neil, gia and miko. it was our first time to play doubles, and i found it more fun than playing singles. anyway, moving on... )

i'm still enjoying what's left of the sem break. i've become so used to sleeping for more than 9 hours every night and doing nothing almost everyday that i don't want to go to school anymore. (on normal schooldays, i sleep for only 4 hours. some of my classmates don't sleep at all. but i can't do that) well, based on the devastating grades i have (some of the exam results were already released last week), i might not even make it to next sem. well, i'll just see about that on nov. 6, when they release the final grades. enrollment will be on the same day. so i could go there all set for enrollment with all the requirements just to find out that i didn't make it to second sem. that's really inhumane.

anyway, i shouldn't be burdened by anything law school related as of the moment. there's enough constitutional overload all around me with the davide impeachment going on and some of my passionate blockmates filling my inbox with their sentiments on the issue.

my sem break's ok, so far. i still haven't fixed up my room yet, though. hehe. two fridays ago, we watched art films at oggs' house with grace and mia. 'ate burger with pesto which was really good. hehe. we watched 'the debut', 'talk to her' and this 30 minute documentary about the holocaust. i really liked 'talk to her'. we also watched matchstick men last weekend (finally!). i don't know why it's not showing anymore in most theaters, whereas the crappy underworld film is. last tuesday, we went to millenia with wex, cesar, neil and tiff. we were only able to watch cambio, imago and urbandub. they had an 80's theme, and almost all of them were in costume. hehe. urbandub's really great. i bought their cd after their performance.

yesterday was patti's 8th birthday. we had a small celebration here at home. they went to e.k., but i didn't go with them since i opted to play badminton. besides, no one's going to be left here at home. i gave her neil gaiman's book, 'coraline' (which i read before i gave to her hehe. i originally bought it for myself, but i was able to finish it already before her birthday so i decided to give it to her) and some w.i.t.c.h. comics which i knew she liked.
