very random thoughts
i realized i haven't been updating much. blame it on my suicidal sched (the most suicidal sched i've ever had so far =P). i'm currently enrolled in the classes of three terror teachers. well, not exactly terror, but they're teachers who require a lot of work. ewan. i just felt that those teachers are the one who really push me to learn, so i chose them. well, two of them. the other one i don't really have a choice. of course i come up with this insight on my last semester (hopefully, ever) in law school. pfft. my worst day is tuesday, by the way. i have OLA from 8 am-12, then the two deadly 5 unit subjects from 5-9 pm. yes, no break in between the two classes. the weird thing is, i feel more accomplished now with a full sched, and i don't really get home feeling drained and dead (i.e., after tax and banking on saturdays). last sem, i had my mondays and wednesdays off, and on fridays we had a non-subject so that didn't really count. but for some strange reason, my week was soooo dragging, and i didn't even get to enjoy the days off. (i later on realized that the culprit is OLA. i have a comparably much lighter load now than last sem. no more muntinlupa hearings and psycho clients. wahoo!) now, i can actually feel that i'm learning, and i'm really prompted to study (yeah whatever, lianne. hehe). i don't think i've studied this much for the past 4 years.. well, i studied too when i was in 1st year, but i still had a difficult time adjusting with the load. i hope this carries on until the bar... =P
classes called off tomorrow because of another "super typhoon" a la milenyo (no more 5-day brownout please..). no corpo and civ! i know we'd have make up classes for the cancelled classes, but i don't care! torture delayed is torture denied. hehe labo. =P a very happy long weekend to you too.
christmas greetings...

...from my pretty little niece. she looks so pretty in this picture...

...but i think this one is more representative of her kapilyahan. haha. for her christmas gift, i've decided to collect those jollibee vcds (which i can get for free if i eat certain meals from there). yes, i will force feed myself with juicy, crispy chickenjoy just so i can get those vcds. hehe. i remember how excited she was the first time she watched the jollibee video (and she kept on asking her mom, "did you buy this?" and then went on chanting the jollibee theme song)
speaking of christmas, i already completed the starbucks planner card! yehey! i've learned my lesson after they ran out of planners around feb. last year, and i had to wait for the next shipment. now i can begin with the planner on dec. 1.
grad pictorial this friday. yes, i've already thought of 2 options for my creative pic. one's the (feeling) rocker theme (hehe) the other one's the normal studio pic.
and mark and i celebrated 5 months yesterday. happy monthsary love! xD hay. i don't think i can ask for anything more. oo na tama na sa kakesohan. haha.
'also been participating in disc and lomomanila lately. oh crap. i forgot to claim the lomo pics i had developed in galle earlier.
sorry this entry doesn't really make any sense. hehe. 'just rambling.
ANYWAY, these are some pics from this month (even if i haven't updated my blog in a while, i do keep my multiply account updated with pics =D):

at mark's uncle, tito charlie co's art exhibit. notice how i'm sort of moving away from mark here. and i will not write anything more re. this pic. i love you love! hehehe *mischievous grin* =D

my high school kabarkada, penny, had her baby shower last nov. 7. ang tatanda na namin!

and this is what we gave her. i ordered it from 'diaper cakes by jul', the link of which i found at tessa's blog. cute!

last saturday's shoot

yesterday,
ian and i went all the way from q.c. [in my case, all the way from north fairview =P]to studio 58 at the pasong tamo extension to have our films from
last saturday's shoot processed. somewhere along the way during the 1++ hour ride, we realized how expensive it is to maintain this hobby - i spent 260 per b & w film, then had it processed for 75 bucks each (150 in all), 'had the negatives digitally scanned (another 85 bucks per film). and if i want to have them developed, i would need to pay again, depending on how many prints i want, the size of the prints, and where i would have them printed. and it's doubly hard for a student like me. for this shoot, i got the money from extra cash from my tuition fee/other extras from buying bar review books. haha. anyway, the trip was worth it, because the pics turned out great! ian and i were so excited to see the pics yesterday, that we had them processed and scanned all in the same day. haha. i normally don't sleep past 11 pm, but last night, uploading the pics kept me awake until past 1 am(i was even frustrated when the monitor won't cooperate again, but i tried it out a little later; it was working again, thank God). gosh, i haven't been maintaining my 7 hour-sleep quota for the past few days. (and i wasn't even utilizing the time to study =P) here are some of my favorite shots taken with my lomo lca:

taken by mark =)

hehe =D

taken by ian =)

sem break entry # 5
the holga witch project
last saturday, i revived my lomo lca that has been idle for so long. the last time i used it was sometime last year, but i don't think the photos turned out any good so i keep them hidden somewhere in one of my photo boxes. last week, i read in the lomo manila forum that the group is doing a post-halloween lomo shoot. i decided to grab the opportunity since i'm still on sem break mode. mark, who didn't have anything to do that day, and who hasn't seen a lomo camera his whole life (hehe) decided to go too.
i brought my lomo lca, my action sampler and my colorsplash flash. i asked ian if she could buy me batteries for the lomo since i haven't changed them since i first got the camera (3 years ago). haha. while i was setting up the camera, i discovered that the battery for the flash ran out too. good thing ian had an extra. and i also found out at the same time that my action sampler isn't working anymore. =( i decided to just make do with the lca.
the theme was gothic, and so the models/subjects were styled to look like death from sandman. one was dressed as a fairy though. we had lunch at the chockiss, waited for the rain to stop, and then walked around the UP area taking photos of the models (well, and of each other). we walked from the bahay ng alumni to the carillon tower then to the lagoon. 'went back to the theater to rest after hours of walking. i used up two rolls of black and white film. mark took some shots too (yihee!). 'had a lot of shots with the gothic kid, cosette (who was so game and bibo!), and chiyomi. 'had some memorable shots with very interesting subjects - the fairy with the yosi, quirky jed right in the middle of the road, model with the freaky contacts, the machong magtataho (see photo below. haha). will upload the pics soon. 'can't wait to have them developed.

it felt good taking artsy pics again after a long time. i regret not being able to join the group in the past lomo shoots. the people are also very supportive. i really hope i'll have time to pursue lomography next sem, despite school, O.L.A., slr and the bar. hay. and i promised myself i'll take pictures with my lomo more often. case in point, i brought it this afternoon when we went to serendra.
and, my phone was stolen..
..but it was recovered on the same day. and it was stolen, of all my places, right inside my room. i distinctly remember leaving it on my study table right beside the books "criminal law updates" by ticman and "pointers in criminal law" by sandoval. the irony of it all. apparently, it was stolen by one of the maid's sons, who was watching tv just outside my room. after i got out of my room, he was looking at me and then suspiciously fled from the tv area. we didn't let them leave the house until the phone was found. of course, since we didn't have proof beyond reasonable doubt (and chuva), i didn't want to accuse anyone, although there were times when i held myself from strangling the boy's neck until he admits to what he has done. hehe. we looked all over the house for it, but we couldn't find it. my dad, being helpful, called me from their room and announced that he found something. it was a silver and black unit like my phone all right. but i don't remember my phone having the inscription, "casio calculator". i just laughed out loud when i saw it, despite how frustrated i was. (i shouldn't really be surprised though; my dad mistook the tv remote control as a cellphone before)
anyway, the boy's 5 year old younger sister and my 8 year old niece, bianca, shouted that they found the phone under the trooper, which was parked in the garage. the little sister then told my mom that it was the brother who told them to look for the phone in the area. we figured he must've placed it there and planned to get it later before he leaves the house. i was so relieved at that time that i gave the little sister 500 bucks. i don't know why. haha. well, maybe i was just too happy at that time that 500 bucks seemed like a small price to pay for all the trouble went through. and i've always liked that little girl, she's so amusing and bibo. second, at that time, i felt that somehow, the boy did the right thing in deciding to point where the phone was. although he didn't literally give back the phone or say he was sorry or admit what he did it (until now), i think it's still good that he didn't push through with stealing it. or maybe i'm just idealistic, thinking that doing good towards the boy's family would make the boy think twice about stealing again. besides, we've known the maid since i was little, and we've trusted her so much already. and i just felt heartbroken for her because of what her son did. i didn't want any strained relationships. or maybe i'm just stupid in giving that much money. hehe. i just hope he learned that stealing won't get him anywhere. because the next time he does that, i swear i'm going to put him in jail and let him rot inside the cell together with my two clients. (and then he's gonna end up in OLA as a client. bwaha)
and so the sem break's coming to an end...
i only have 3 short days until my last semester ever in UP starts. *cringe* here's an update:
things i promised to do during the sem break:
