new year's resolution #1:
make blogging changes.
when i put labels in all my entries (all 300++ of them), i realized just how angsty most of my blog entries are. and so i promise not to make too many of them this year because i end up regretting what i wrote, and later on i become too conscious if i've offended anyone or have given the impression that i overreact or whine too much. i was tempted to delete some of the said entries, but decided to just minimize the font. i know writing angsty posts would be inevitable this year though, especially with the *eep* bar exams coming up. also, i will write no more looong 'random thoughts' entries where i try to put in as many unrelated topics as i want in one post. it's so confusing. and it's just difficult to tag. =P i just want my next entries to be short and sweet, if not, just short. hehe. as much as possible i'd also like to include more photos (at least one photo) per entry (that explains the totally unrelated photo i posted. haha).
more new year's resolutions to follow. i don't normally make new year's resolutions, but i think, and i hope that writing down some of the things i want to do this year would motivate me to accomplish them. and by posting these resolutions publicly, i intend to estop myself from going against my word. =P

holiday report
grr my arms are so big they deserve a different name. or a different blog altogether. x_x i'm spending the christmas break, or what's left of it, blogging while reading "the amber spyglass" (the last of philip pullman's trilogy). the internet connection has improved a bit, although the flickr site seems to be lagged still. i was seriously thinking of getting a pro account (because i need a permanent storage for all my pics; multiply deletes high res photos after 6 months. and also because everyone else in the lomomanila group has a pro account and i feel so left out. haha), but i would have to reconsider that after the connection completely normalizes.
the last 17 days of the break was a blur - couldn't remember much of it unless i refer to the pictures in my multiply. i don't know if that's a good or bad thing. it could either mean that there are just too many events that i couldn't remember every detail, or that most of the days were too insubstantial to even remember. and this is pretty unusual since i often recall events in my life with great ease. all i'm sure of is that i've spent the first 6 days slaving in front of the computer to finish the supervised legal research paper which we eventually passed on the 20th. and then there were some days i supposedly alloted for study. but since there is no potent source of pressure, i always ended up sleeping on those days (today included) after barely reading one paragraph.
like last year, christmas started early this month, with all the christmas parties i've attended starting last dec. 9, 2006 (winlaw and block christmas party). and then we had the annual dinner with my law school college barkada and high school barkadas, the dinner with mark's college barkada, the pinc christmas party in church, the lomo post-christmas party and the christmas and new year dates with mark (yihee).
christmas was spent with my immediate family. we slept early after opening the gifts. on the 24th, we ate in shangri-la and then watched the nativity story (i would rather watch "little miss sunshine" over and over). i'm quite happy with my christmas loot this year: perfume and lotion from mark, beauty bar soap and lotion from oggs, body wash from grace and mia, body wash from my mom, soap from joan (i don't smell that bad the last time i checked. hehe), fuzzy slippers from daisy, slippers from jenn, slippers from my sister, shirt from di, the killers cd from daddy joey (in the block kris kringle), book from kris, lomo pic + frame from mon. yahoo!
new year wasn't so bad. i wasn't expecting a big celebration this year since some of the relatives we usually spend new year's eve with already moved to the states, the most significant of whom is uncle efren, who's the usual party host/game master. but it turned out okay. we still invited some relatives - cousins/pamangkins. and as usual, my parents opened the house to the helpers' families. one thing i admire about my parents is how generous they are to the helpers especially at this time of the year. they invite everyone they can (the maids'/drivers' families) and we dine together with them and feast on the noche buena/media noche buffet staples - turkey, ham, keso de bola, salad, baked mac, hot choco and (the walang kamatayang) arroz caldo. there's the usual torotot for every kid (me excluded). bombee's dad also never fails to supply the firecrackers. this year, he brought a sackful, consisting of the old school firecrackers (sinturon ni hudas, five star, fountain and the like. yeah, hardcore! haha) besides, the neighbors got the expensive, high quality fireworks, so we just watched out for those from my sister's house. =P i also learned that bombee's parents opted to spend new year's here and not in alabang (where bombee's sister lives with her family) because it's too quiet there on new year's. unlike here where we have noise and hardcore kabakyaan goodness. hehe. we didn't have games this year though, but i just helped patti out lead the younger kids for a game of "bring me" (bring me with a twist. as in, bring me the "sexiest yaya" or the "biggest mommy" in the room. teehee).
2006 was one helluva good year, i swear. (read last entry) it holds too many good memories (the singapore and US trips, the internship, and of course, *yihee* mark). even law school became a bit more interesting the past year. i don't hate it anymore. not as much, anyway. i don't know what 2007 holds for me, but one thing i'm sure of is that it's going to be a challenging year, especially with the bar exam in september. i'd better start studying seriously.
have a great year ahead everyone!! =D 'will post my new year's resolutions soon. hehe =P
